As part of plans to boost agriculture in northern Nigeria, the New Nigeria Development Company (NNDC) has signed a Strategic Alliance Agreement with Haske and Williams Limited. The joint agreement was signed to specifically identify, develop and implement opportunities pertaining to the agricultural sector in the north. The Lagos based Agribusiness Company with offices across the country in identifying and developing opportunities in Nigeria’s agricultural space, its natural endowments for the development of industrial-scale agricultural projects that can contribute to the diversification of the Nigerian economy. Alhaji Mohammed Bashir Dalhatu, the NNDC Chairman, in a statement made available to DAILY INDEPENDENT, said the company has a large rice integrated farm at Demsa Local Government Area of Adamawa State and another integrated cassava production project in Kaima in Kwara State among others.
He disclosed that the signing of the agreement was another significant milestone recorded by NNDC in its quest to develop agriculture in the region which is one of the major priority areas of its current strategic Development plan.
