Nigeria Agribusiness Register Facilitates Extension Support to Cashew Farmers in Kogi State
Nigeria Agribusiness Register is facilitating Extension Support to Cashew Farmers in Kogi State for Vertex Agro Limited – one of the leading cashew processing factories in Africa.
The overall goal of the extension project is to develop a consistent and sustainable rural community-based supply chain for sourcing quality RCN in sufficient quantity and at a competitive price; this project is intended to also Improve the livelihood of the cashew farmers (especially youths and women) in the project location and the host community generally.
A 2-day Training of Trainers (ToTs) Exercise was carried out on the 8th -9th November 2021 for Local Community Trainers (LCTs) in Kogi state across four different communities – Abocho, Etutekpe, Ochaja and Iyala all in Dekina LGA, Kogi State. The training included Good Agronomic Practices (GAP), Harvest and Post Harvest (HPH) Handling. The trained Local Community Trainers are to cascade the training to cashew farmers within their respective clusters.
